Here at Tameside Karate we teach Traditional Karate, in the Tameside Area with clubs in Stalybridge, and Ashton. We are easy to get to from Dukinfield, Hyde, and the rest of Tameside and Greater Manchester. To find our locations please visit the Contact Us page.

Our Classes are able to accommodate Children from the ages of 3 upwards, starting with our Lil' Dragons programme for children aged 3-6 yrs old. Tameside Karate are proud to teach young children, kids, teenagers and adults, regardless of their age, gender, race, religion or abilities, the invaluable martial art of Genbu Kai Shito-Ryu Karate Do.

We also teach in the arts of Kobudo and Suishin Ryu Batto-Do.

Kata, Kumite, and Self-Defence

Karate is our passion. With many, many years of experience you can ensure that you will learn valuable life skills along the way.

We focus on all areas of karate... Kata, kumite, application of karate and kata (also known as bunkai), self defence, etc.
Perfect for your 3 to 6 year olds

The "Lil Dragons" classes are a unique program developed for children aged 3 to 6 years old. This class, by design, is both fun and educational and utilises the curiosity and boundless energy inherent in young children
Traditional weapons from the island of Okinawa

Join us to learn how the village of Okinawa utilised traditional farming tools as self defence weapons. The weapons taught are: Bo, Nunchaku, Kama, Tonfa, Sai, and Eku-Bo.


Come along and learn the art of the Japanese sword (Katana)

Batto is the art of cutting with a sharp (or "live" blade) sword on a bamboo, straw or tatami mats that have been soaked in water for several days.
